where can i get a heat mat that can go in a wooden vivarium and what do i use to cover it?
does the bottom of the vivarium need heating at all? if so where can i get a heat mat that can go inside the vivarium and what do i cover it in? i have read not to put sand on it and that beardies eat wood chips. is there a sort of carpet i can use?

Search for “reptile wonders” on google.
He is an awesom guy. He can get you a heating pad if you order one, and a good alternative cover is astroturf (like on fake hockey fields).
It works really well, is easy to clean, and not likely to be eaten. Just look on the website for his number.
(his prices are also VERY good)

I use lino in my viv its great and easy to clean. DONT use a heat mat, it burns their bellies all you need is a basking heat light and a UVB light. whatever you do dont get a heat mat for beardies they are only suitable for geckos. Hope you get it sorted

Use over head heat for beardies. If you ever do have a reptile that uses belly heat don’t put the pad in the cage, its a shock hazard. I’ve heard that ultratherm pads are made to be able to go in the cage, but i still don’t trust it. You only need one toenail to break the coating for it to become a death trap
