What kind of dog should we get for a second dog?
We have a Goldendoodle now and she is quite big about 75lbs. We wanted something smaller for a second dog. Just looking for ideas and advice on a good breed that is also good with other dogs.
We would want a dog that is active and likes to go for walks, and the dog park. But, we are gone about hours a day during the week. So far our dog now has adjusted fine with that.

Cairn Terrier, they don’t shed either, very playful and intelligent breed. Ours gets along great with our shepherd mix, who is 50 lbs.

Well dachshunds and corgi’s (Pembroke or cardigan)
are small and are great with other dogs and pets (most are)
dachshunds do get a little barky as they are good guard dogs.
or get one from a shelter that has a little of corgi/dachshund.

well if u are planning on getting another mutt then go to the shelter. there are plenty of mixed breed dogs there that are small. but honestly i dont know what u want. i dont know your lifestyle. i dont know you. this is something u need to research and figure out urself. i cant help u because i know nothing about u. the best i can do is give u a link to the akc website so u have somewhere to start

It depends on the energy level of the dog you already have, get a different sex dog to avoid fights and get a lower or higer energy dog depending on your current dog.
Get a male dog to avoid confrontation, breeds do have certain characetristics but generally it depends on the dominance and personality of the dog, I have bred dogs before and the difference between the more outgoing dominant dog of the litter to the more submissive dog of the litter couldnt be any further apart in personality. A boxer or staffordshire bull terrier are both very friendly (not pitbull).

Definitely adopt a pound puppy, there’s lots of sweeties in shelters waiting to be saved. As for breed, Shih Tzus are sweet as heck and fun to play and cuddle with.
