We stopped getting hot water in all our showers but not our faucets? Why?
All of a sudden all of our showers stopped producing hot water. It is not ice cold, but it is also not hot either. This is happening to all our showers. But we can get plenty of hot water from our faucets. The plumber who came out wants to replace the cartridges in the showers that regulate the hot and cold - but this doesn't make sense that all of the cartridges in all of our showers would suddenly all go bad at the same time. So what else could be causing just our showers to no longer get hot water?
Why am I getting hot water out of the cold taps and in the toilet?
We are getting hot water coming out the cold taps in the faucets (bathtub, shower, bathroom sink, etc) and getting hot water in the toilet. We have to fun the cold water for about 2 minutes before we get cold water. We living in a one story house built in 1975 in the San Diego Area. We can feel heat coming from under the carpet and under the bathroom tiles. This has only been going on for about a week. We haven't made anything changes.
Is my dog pregnant? Or is she just getting fat?
For almost a year now, I have been trying to fatten up my dog because the vet told me she is underweight for a chihuahua of her size. She is eating the same amount of food she has before but she is getting a belly, and fast, I have been trying to do this with her for a year, but she remained skinny as a rail until now. She is not spayed, one time I went to the dog park and there was one dog there that wasn't neutered and at one point when I was there, I lost sight of her. I ended up finding her with the other dog and the other dogs owner and I asked the owner if her dog got on my dog and she said no, and I believed her then, but I don't know if I should now. Could she possibly be pregnant? She doesn't really have any other symptoms that could indicate pregnancy, other than licking herself and making a nest (but she was doing the nest one since we got her almost a year ago). Has anyone had a pregnant dog experience like this. I don't want to go to the vet and pay-out money for an ultrasound just to find out my dog is just getting fat, so don't make that suggestion. I just want to see all of your guy's opinion before I shell out a lot of money. And if your dog was pregnant before, did she start getting fat within a couple of days? Mine isn't quite fat yet, but she seemed to have gotten really chunky fast. After the dog park incident is when I found out she was in heat, I had an appointment set up to get her spayed, but I found out most of the vets around town charge $40 extra for a dog in heat. I was going to wait it out so I didn't have to pay that much more, but now that she is getting fat, I think I should go anyway. Could you do a spay/abortion? Are those allowed? I never had a female dog until now, the only reason I found out she was in heat was because I thought she had a bladder infection because she had blood on her vulva and the vet told me she was in heat. The only reason I never spayed her before was because the vet wasn't quite sure if she was spayed or not, so I had to wait until she was in a heat cycle. (she had scarring from a previous surgery.)
My cat just died…. please help me in getting over his death?
My cat was only 2 years old. I noticed he was having trouble breathing and breathing really hard and loud. He didn't even eat his favorite wet food and looked really sick so I took him to the vet. He even started moaning in the carrier on the way to the vet. The vet examined him and said my poor baby had pneumonia. My cat was up to date on his shots and was neutered last month. I didn't understand how or why he had pneumonia. The vet just said he could have had it for a bunch of different reasons. He suggested getting an X-ray and putting him on antibiotics and a bunch of other stuff. The bill came out to be $400 for all that, or if I couldn't afford it, to put my baby to sleep because pneumonia is a horrible way to die. Being unemployed, it was a hard decision for me but I decided to do what was best for my cat and fork over the $400 on to my credit card. I had to pay up front. The vet took his X-ray and started him on antibiotics and shots. This was Friday morning, so he wanted to keep my cat over the weekend. He said to keep my fingers crossed, but he was leaning more towards my cat being okay. Since the vet closes on the weekend, I wasn't able to visit my baby, although I did call many times on Saturday and Sunday to see if someone was there who could update me on my cat's health, but no one answered my voicemail. The vet says they do "rounds" over the weekend to check up on the pets. Monday morning came, and I was excited to come over to pick up my baby when the vet called and said my cat had passed away Sunday night around 11pm! I was soooo frustrated! I thought he would be fine, since they kept him over the weekend.
What hurts me the most was that my cat died ALONE, in a cage, without his loved ones near him, in an unfamiliar place. I am frustrated at the vet for not calling me if they didn't think my cat would have made it, so that I could at least say goodbye to him or have him at home where he's used to. My baby is a scaredy cat, so I think his whole 2 days at the vet was very frightening for him. When I went to pick up his body, the vet did not appear sympathetic at all... I feel like he just wanted my money. Had I known my baby wasn't going to make it, I would have him die at home, with his loved ones, or at least have him put to sleep in my arms.... rather than a cold cage alone.
I am very distraught over his death. He was my first pet and he was the sweetest, kindest, most loyal cat I have ever met. He left behind is younger brother, who is constantly looking out the window waiting for his older brother to go home. We can all tell that my other cat is depressed and misses him, as he's not as hyperly active as before and doesn't eat as much as he used to.
We buried my cat that Monday night, as I could not bear him to be at that vet any longer. We buried him in my garden and had a beautiful funeral for him surrounded by family and friends. It's been 4 days since his death, and I still cry over his loss. I don't have much motivation to do anything except sleep and reminisce about our days together. I curl up with our other cat, hoping my dear baby would return one day.
Please, give me advice on what I should do to overcome this. The pain is too unbearable and I just miss him soooo much!
Also, I feel like I should go back to the vet and demand some of my money back as they failed in his treatment and didn't even bother to inform me that he wasn't doing any better so that I could say my last goodbyes to him instead of him dying in a cage all alone on a Sunday night. I feel that charging $400 for a failed treatment was a waste of my money.
Also, what should I do to help my other cat cope with the loss of his brother?
And should I go back to the vet and demand some money back?
