My dog BEGS to go outside, but once he goes out he just sits and does nothing?
My 1 1/2 year old pound puppy lab-mix keeps begging to go out, but as soon as he goes out he just sits. So I tied him out and he's been outside for 15 minutes while I watch from the window and he's just sitting, staring into space. WHY?
Is it cause it's springy weather? Or is he just being weird?

your dog might just like chilling in the garden, it might be cooler out there for him, or it might just be a place he can relax. don’t worry about it your dog is perfectly normal, my lhasa apso loves just sitting outside, as long as they don’t keep barkin and annoying the neighbors why stop him? if ur dog wants too sit outside, let him, dogs have personalities too, some prefer the out doors whilst others prefer in doors, they are individuals! seems too me uu have a dog who loves the good old out doors!

What do you want him to be doing… mowing the yard?
He is enjoying the weather and the scents on the air. He is enjoying being out of the house for a bit.
Why would this be weird? It’s a lot better than barking and digging holes…

Same here! I also have a lab…maybe it’s a lab thing?
Anyway, dogs like to go outside. Maybe he just wants to be outside and take in the fresh air, like we do. Or possibly standing guard, or basking in the sun. Think of it this way: the dog is out of the house and is not torturing you.
Do you have a glass door? My dog often sees his reflection and begs to go outside. When he gets out, he waits…And waits…And waits…Then asks to come inside.

Ever one needs to get out. Sometimes my black Lab will do the same thing. He just sit outside the door and watches people and C-17s and helicopters. Kinda like you like to watch certain things too and no one likes to be cooped up all the time. Dogs get depressed too.

He may like sitting outside doing nothing!
maybe he is enjoying sun light or wind~ never know…

He could just want to chill outside. It’s more interesting to watch the birds/bugs/etc than it is to sit inside the house and do nothing. Also, maybe he actually wants to go for a walk. Try taking him for a walk

I beleive he is suffering from spring fever and I reccomend he stay outside until it becomes dark out . My dog does tha same thing se we just tie him so he can sit outside and enjoy the weather.
