Is it okay to take motrin for a calf strain?
I have started cross country and I have a calf strain. I have been taking motrin before practice to help reduce the pain so I can run. I also take it throughout the day. Is that something that is bad for my calf strain or is it helping it?

Motrin is antiinflammatory and it will help your calf strain – along with rest. If you keep running on any hurt part of your body you will make the injury worse.
All the best.

Motrin is an anti-inflammatory, so you’re taking the right stuff.
Be sure you eat something before you take it though, because it can cause stomach bleeding, ulcers, etc. with long term use.
Best thing you can do right know for your calf strain is use the RICE method.
Rest – Ice – Compress – Elevate
Always listen to your body. If it hurts to do something, then don’t do it for awhile.
