How often do miniature schnauzers have their period?
I have a female that is about 5 months and I am not sure if I should get her fixed. She is the perfect dog and her puppies would make a lot of my family members very happy. I am just not sure if I will be able to handle her period. Please let me know what you can. I really appreciate it!

It’s called estrus or her heat cycle. Dogs do NOT have periods.
You clearly are not educated enough to raise puppies. Have her spayed, most come in twice a year & they spot blood everywhere they go.
oh & not to mention, after whelping, she will bleed for another month.

DOgs do not have periods them come in heat usually every 6 months. Dog breeding is a serious and expensive business and you should not breed to “make your friends and relatives happy” – do her a favour and get her spayed so you need never worry about this and tell your relatives to go and get a dog from the shelter, they are full to bursting point with dogs bred by irresponsible people.
If you cannot handle a bltch in heat, you can definitely NOT handle a bltch in whelp or a litter of puppies!

It’s called heat, not a period. but, to answer your question, about every 6 months with a heat cycle lasting 3 weeks.

dogs dont have “periods”.. only humans and some primates menstruate.
Dogs go thru heat or estrus.. which typicall lasts approx 21 days, and occours every 6 months or so.. (some dogs cycle more or less often)
Get her spayed. Your dog is not a means to provide your family with “free” puppies (they wouldnt be free anyways, as it costs to breed a dog!).. if your family wants puppies so badly, they can adopt from a shelter.

Dogs don’t menstruate, so they don’t have periods. They go into estrus cycles, and your little girl will be doing it in the next 4-6 weeks. Get her spayed now; it will save you from a tremendous amount of stress and it will save her health. Most females don’t die from littering, but their health can be negatively impacted. Spayed females live longer.
If your friends and relatives want puppies like yours, refer them to her breeder.

It is easy to handle them.You could get her pampers if you’d hate to wipe her every second. or you can get her umm I forgot what it was. it started with an S. I think its stranded or something like that. I have a miniature schnauzer too but she is 5 months too. She does not have her period yet but I heard what you could do. Please pick me as the best. I know how you feel!
