How much should I feed my 2 month old pitbull puppy?
I just adopted a pitbull puppy, he was born in january of this year, and weighs like 5 or 6 lbs, his parents were small too. He ate like 3 tbl spoons and I know he is still hungry, so I want to know how much I sould feed the puppy without making him sick or anything.
^^ thanks for the advice,we used science diet, alpo and wellness puppy food.

Start feeding him at the same time daily, 3 times a day with a quality dog food like Taste of the Wild or Canidae. Don’t feed him any cheap crap. Don’t increase the amount. He may be growing, or he may just be a typical dog who eats and eats and eats. Dogs are like that. But don’t allow free eating. Always have the scheduled time for him to eat.

There are guide lines of how much to feed on the can or bag of food. I would imagine that 1/2 can would be good for a meal for now… being a pup he should be feed 2-3 times a day.

I am used to slightly larger dogs, but maybe start with a half cup each of 3 times a day or what the package says. Your dog definitely should be narrower at the waist than the hips and chest. You should be able to easily feel the ribs, but not see them. Each dog is different. Standard recommendations are a good place to start, but each dog must have its food and exercise adjusted to its individual needs. Here is a link to a good illustrated guide, http://www.longliveyourdog.com/twoplus/RateYourDog.aspx
Lean may not be as cute, but it is healthier.
Stick to what the breeder is feeding at least for now. it is quite common to switch to some ”better” food and have all kinds of trouble. Check out the ”better” foods. I have and have never found any evidence dogs do better on them, none.

well im guessing he will be around 40 pounds full grown right now i would give him 1/2 cup in the morn and 1/2 cup at supper but once he gets to be an adult at around 1 year of age i would double that, 1 cup in the morn, and 1 cup for supper. a feeding shedual will help him understand u are in charge of his food and this will stop any food aggression in the future.
