How is it being open minded when dating outside but to exclude the ones in your race?
I don't have anything against interracial dating. I just find it odd how people say their open minded about dating outside their race but will not date someone of their race. So, how is it being open minded?

True.. I agree, that is not being open minded then.
I think people like that are just insecure..

It isn’t. You can’t be open minded and exclude at the same time- especially when it comes to your own race. That’s just ridiculous.

It’s an excuse to hide self hatred, black men know this very well.

I think everyone should date within their own race

Wow you have a really good point! I always dated outside of my race because I always thought Hispanic guys were very possessive (machismo). So I thought in order to not be stuck With a person like that I just won’t date my race but come to find out its not about race its all about the person!

because thier not just sticking to one race thier open to others, people who say its self hatred and should stick to thier own are insecure

ha ha I know right? I’ve seen some black women and black men who exclusively date interracially say “I’m an open minded person and I enjoy dating outside my race but I dont date within my race becuase I’m just not attracted to them” the reasons why some of these blacks say they dont date within their race is because they had a couple of bad experiences and assume all black men or all black women are bad. they forget to understand that not all black men and black women are the same

Thats good logic. Great question

I think after a while some people get fed up. Like they will date that race they now exclude but it didn’t start out like that. The prejudice does start to exist after you have quite a few unsuccessful attempts at dating a particular race.

It depends. Some people are genuinely not attracted to people of their own race at all. When it crosses the line into self hatred is when they say stuff like
I think all women of my race are______and I can’t stand them.
I think all men of my race are ______and I can’t stand them.
That isn’t being open minded to me.

agreed. Or when people who listen to rock/rap or some genre not common to people of their background and state “I love all sorts of music” but when you try to open their mind to a group, artist or song from their peers they close their ears to it. That is not openness- a true lover of diversity will consider it all.

Because I have given other races a chance and it just doesnt work for me. Can be great friends but just dont connect on that level with anyone but black men. If I did connect Id be all up for it but I never feel that spark.
