How do I feed my live brine shrimp to my fresh water fish without getting salt water in my tank?

I currently have brine shrimp sitting in a cup and was just told I can't feed them to my freshwater fish because I'll mix the salt water and the freshwater together and it will kill my fish......PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

  1. Rinse them out with tap water right before you put it in the fish tank? They’ll still be alive w/o salt water? I’m no expert though, just my common sense.

  2. If you have a fine mesh net handy that will work. You could use cheese cloth pouring the cup over that and then putting them in the tank after you rise them off.

  3. How big of a cup? What are your fish species? How big is your tank? A little bit of salt rarely harms most species of fish. You can strain out the brine shrimp with a fine fish net if you have one for your fish and then swish them off the net into your tank.

  4. i would use a brine shrimp net, scoop up the brine shrimp, rinse under tap water and feed to fish … i rinsed quite thoroughly with the water quite strong … and i did not kill one dwarf puffer fry feeding them that way daily for almost six months …
