Do most police departments accept that some psychics are genuine?
I know that years ago if you said you were using a psychic, people would laugh at you, However today with a lot of police departments, particularly large ones using psychics in investigations I think they are becoming more accepted. What do you think?

No, the only time that police departments actually “ask” a psychic to join the investigation is when they have no where else to turn. In other words, they’ve already completed the investigation and they have “nothing” to go on. At this point, “anything” will help, so they have nothing to lose by asking a psychic’s assistance.

my crystal ball says….”.yes”

Some police departments are turning to them to solve “cold cases” but only in a limited capacity, such as locating dead bodies. Psychic testimony is not admissible in court so they don’t use them to figure out what happened.

I think rather than necessarily being accepted as legitimately psychic, some departments are willing to accept any help offered that isn’t tied to the investigation or any of it’s suspects. Even if that help seems a little out of the ordinary. Besides, one direct benefit of using an indirect source is that it helps to create new and different ways of thinking, thus allowing investigators to occasionally “think outside the box.)
Although, there have been some who have truly believed in their abilities, and some seem to have developed seemingly respectable track records, I still have my doubts and believe it’s more related to creative thought rather than psychic abilities.
I’d also have to question the motives of the alleged psychic, as well as any direct ties to the crime itself. Especially if the individual claiming to be psychic came in off the street without an invitation and had specific information that directly related to the crime.
Just my opinion.
Sincerely,
policetac

They would still laugh at you.
Hint: Medium is a TV show, not reality. It is make-believe.

No police departments use psychics, becuase they have never worked. Real life is not TV.

They still laugh at you. Psychics are great on television. In real life they aren’t.
