Can I use a fake home decoration plant in an aquarium?
I have this really big green fake plant with a stem. I think its designed to go into a fake pot or something. It doesnt look like it has anything obviously harmful to the fish apart from the stem someone put tape on it, but I can just cut that off.
What do you guys think
It has glue on the leaves though to stick it to the branches

I wouldn’t add that particular item. If the glue isn’t aquarium safe it may leech chemicals into the water, the decoration may become unglued, your fish may try and eat any glue that has visibly seeped out of the attachment seams, the paint may leech off into the water.
However, there are other like items you could add: items like glass candle holders & mugs can usually be safely added without issue. Other items sometimes can, too-but wash them before adding them & make sure no paint is flaking off, there are no metal components, there aren’t parts that fish could eat or hurt themselves on.

Absolutely not. It will leave chemicals in the water that WILL kill your fish. Plants that are made for aquariums are specially made to not harm fish.
